Le navi transitate ieri pomeriggio dallo Stretto erano ANDREA DORIA, DIAMOND, QUEEN ELIZABETH, FORT VICTORIA, TIDESPRINGS, THE SULLIVANS. Francesco De Domenico Posted June 7, 2021 Report Share Posted June 7, 2021 Il DDG-68 THE SULLIVANS (classe Arleigh Burke Flight I) reca il nome dei cinque fratelli (Irish-American) Sullivan periti il 13 novembre 1942 nell'affondamento dell'incrociatore antiaereo CL-52 JUNEAU a Guadalcanal da parte del ct giapponese MURASAME e del sommergibile I-26 (un siluro ciascuno), con solo 14 superstiti su 693 membri dell'equipaggio. E' la seconda nave a ricordarne il nome. La precedente, il DD-527 della classe FLETCHER, è musealizzata a Buffalo, N.Y. Ricordate "Salvate il soldato Ryan" di Steven Spielberg?
