Francesco De Domenico
Platon Alexiades
Dear Francesco, The EMPRESS OF IRELAND tragedy (over 1,000 lives lost) is now mostly forgotten (except to local divers in Québec) and it even was hardly noticed at the time as Europe was on the point of getting embroiled in the Great War. The wreck is difficult to dive because of low visibility and strong current, depth is about 45 metres. To my knowledge six experienced divers (perhaps more) lost their lives. Thanks for reminding readers of this event. Best wishes, Platon Luiz and sandokan
